New Nissan Maxima SR 2024 Release Date, Model, Changes

New Nissan Maxima SR 2024 Release Date, Model, Changes – The 2024 Nissan Maxima is a four-door sedan similar to the Altima, but more expensive and equipped with a standard V-6 engine. It has a sporty and attractive appearance, which puts it up against the Acura TLX, the Nissan Altima, the Toyota Camry, and the Honda Accord. It has enough power, better crash protection, and a unique look that make it a lot better than the average car.

The most costly model now has red leather upholstery and gloss-black trim as part of a new 40th Anniversary edition. Meanwhile, the S and SL 2024 Nissan Maxima basic prices have been increased. The Maxima takes the Altima’s business-casual appearance and transforms it into a racing outfit. It’s svelte yet dominating, with exaggerated elements ranging from the deep V-neck grille to the massive haunches. It is a pillar of Nissan’s “floating-canopy” design concept, and it is a beautiful car, with a cockpit that wraps around the driver and has tactile controls rather than touchscreens.

The Maxima is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, producing 300 horsepower and sending power to the front wheels via a continuously variable automatic gearbox (CVT). While Maxima’s engine is undeniably speedy, it drones and lacks responsiveness, which is exacerbated when combined with paddle shifters that cycle through preset shift ratios. It’s a good car because it has a comfortable ride and good handling, especially in the SR trim, which has 19-inch wheels and paddle shifters.

Interior

The 2024 Nissan Maxima’s interior is substantially identical to the four-door Altima’s. It’s not surprising that they have an architectural connection. Decent front seats accommodate the Maxima’s version of that running gear, but passengers and baggage are packed into an impossibly tiny rear seat and trunk. Here, we give it a six. The front seats are rather supportive, and with the discontinuation of the previous basic model, all Maximas now include leather upholstery. The chairs are supportive and comfy, making them ideal for extended trips. The SR models have a synthetic suede trim for added body traction.

In row two, leg space is restricted to 34.2 inches. Two adults, not three, will fit comfortably, and the Maxima’s sloping roofline reduces back seat headroom. The Maxima’s trunk is 14.3 cubic feet, which is significantly less than the trunks of many mid-size sedans—in fact, it is similar to the Sentra’s trunk. It more than makes up for lost ground in terms of quality and workmanship; the inside of the Maxima feels substantial. It’s sumptuous enough to warrant a starting price of roughly $40,000.

Engine

The Maxima’s V-6 engine distinguishes it from its less expensive cousins. The 3.5-liter V-6 engine produces 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque. However, it is coupled to a continuously variable automatic gearbox (CVT), which eliminates the engine’s thrilling characteristics. What works effectively in a Z coupe is masked by the CVT’s reflexes, which mimic those of a cogged-gear automatic transmission. When the vehicle lumbers and drones through its rev range, it has the feel of an economy car rather than a performance sedan—but it is still swift enough to go from zero to sixty mph in less than seven seconds.

While the Maxima SR is equipped with paddle shifters with eight preset ratios, the formula for mediocrity has already been discovered. While the V-6 elevates it above the Altima, does that make it more sporty? Indeed, the Maxima’s most defining feature is its exceptionally comfortable ride. While the Maxima is far from a sports sedan, its fast handling complements its plush ride. Even though the SR’s suspension and brakes have been beefed up a little, for more than $40,000, there are a lot of sport sedans that are smaller but much more fun to drive.

2024 Nissan Maxima Release Date and Price

Although the base price of the $37,915 Maxima SV is the lowest, it still comes equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather upholstery, and navigation. We also like the Maxima SR, which costs $43,075 and comes with 19-inch wheels and a stiffer suspension.
